Our Story

Pleasant Surprise Events was founded by Nellie Mun in October of 2006. Nellie’s career plan was to be a teacher, but she put those plans on hold to be a stay at home mom. She tried many things to make sure she was home for her kids, and eventually landed on what came naturally to her, which was planning events. Never wanting to miss any of her kids’ activities, not even the everyday routines, she scheduled site visits and client meetings during school hours or when her husband was home, and only took weddings that didn’t conflict with her kids’ games, recitals, and competitions, etc. Now that they’re grown, she has no regrets.

We are a full service wedding and event planning and coordinating company. Most of our clients come to us by referral so there’s usually a familiar face at every event and that makes us so happy! Our goal is to make sure our clients are taken care of from beginning to end. We do everything we can so our clients and their families can enjoy and celebrate their special day. We handle all the details and we do it all with a smile. We believe in working together with all the vendors to be one cohesive team doing our best for our clients. We also love keeping in touch with clients and vendors long after the event is done.
